It seems to be the big day for Bond casting news, so finally we seem able to put a can on the ridiculous rumor mongering that has literally dogged and depressed every one in the movie news industry for over a year.
Producers-of-Doom Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccolli have confirmed rumors printed earlier that Eva Green (The Dreamers, Kingdom of Heaven) is indeed set to play Bond babe Vesper Lynd. They also announced that Jeffrey Wright (Shaft, Syriana, Broken Flowers) will play the role of Bond's CIA buddy Felix Leiter.
Further they have released a more wide casting annoucement for minor characters;
Giancarlo Gianni (Hannibal) - Mathis
Catarina Murino (Nowhere) - Sologne
Simon Abkarian (Ararat) - Dimitrios
Tobias Menzies ("Rome") - Villiers
Ivana Milicevic (Just Like Heaven) - Valenka
Clemens Schik (Enemy at the Gates) - Kratt
Ludger Pistor (Run Lola Run) - Mendel
Claudio Santamaria (Melissa P.) - Carlos
Shooting began last month and Casino Royale is scheduled for a November 17 release.
