More Recruits For GI Joe
Forget about the JLA movie. Suddenly G.I. Joe is where all the banter is. The movie, which seems to have greater fan support than the D.C. heroes, has suddenly had a boom of casting information. The Hollywood Reporter gets in on the game today, reporting the addition of three more cast members.
Rachel Nichols, seen recently as a victim in the garage thriller P2, will join the cast as Scarlett, one of the key G.I. Joes who serves as counterintelligence and specializes in martial arts combat. Lost’s Mr Eko, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, will show there is a reason for his departure from the island as he joins the cast as Heavy Duty, an ordinance expert. Finally, Said Taghmaoui (The Kite Runner) will play communications specialist Breaker.
The trio join previously confirmed cast member Ray Park as part of an elite military team (and actress Sienna Miller as part of the enemy organization COBRA). If you didn’t already know that’s what G.I. Joe was about, you better go bone up on the ‘80s cartoon, because something tells me that, with all of the updates we’re getting this week, we are all about to be immersed in that culture soon.
