The Most Adorable Captain America Photo You've Ever Seen
Steve Rogers was stuck in icy stasis for over 70 years before he was revived, separated from the love of his life during that whole time. However, Peggy Carter will still able to reunite with Captain America in the 1940s… well, kind of. As this photo that Haley Atwell recently posted on Twitter shows, the Captain America she’s with is a a lot shorter, but way more adorable.
This Twtter photo was taken on the set of ABC’s upcoming limited series Agent Carter, which features Atwell as the titular character. Presumably visitors were allowed onto the Strategic Scientific Reserve set to meet with Atwell, and they decided take advantage of this photo opportunity. After all, how many other chances is Atwell going to get to take a picture with a mini-Captain America while in her ‘40s costume? This kid obviously rocks the Captain America suit, but he should probably leave the super heroics to the real Star Spangled Avenger. For one thing, that shield is practically bigger than he is!
In Captain America: The First Avenger, Steve crashed the Red Skull’s nuke-sporting plane into the Arctic to prevent the weapons on board from detonating in a populated area. His last words to Peggy was that he’d come back for that dance with her. Steve eventually did reunite with Peggy in the present day, but as we saw in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, that reunion was bittersweet as her mental deterioration meant that she didn’t always remember that he was back among the living. However, as Steve pointed out, she led a wonderful life with her own family, so it all worked out for her in the end. As for Steve, he still hasn’t found that special someone, but with all the trouble he’s been dealing with lately, romance isn’t the priority right now. When he does eventually get back on the market, though, he might want to consult with mini-Captain America on how to attract the ladies.
While she won’t be reuniting with her World War II love interest in Agent Carter, Peggy will be keeping herself busy come January. The eight-episode limited series will follow Peggy as she finds herself in a diminished capacity working for the Strategic Scientific Reserve following the end of World War II. When her old friend Howard Stark comes to her for help in tracking down stolen technology of his, she’ll need to put all of her spy skills to work to secure these dangerous devices before they can cause any harm.
Captain America will return to the big screen on May 1, 2015 in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Agent Carter will have its two-hour premiere on Tuesday, January 6th at 8 p.m. ET with the episodes "Now is Not The End" and "Bridge and Tunnel."
