Nic Cage’s next bad wig will be medieval. Variety says he’s set to star in a movie about 14th century knights transporting a suspected witch who is believed to be responsible for spreading the dreaded Black Plague.
Unless he’s playing the witch (and with the right wig who knows), it’s probably safe to assume that means we’ll see Nic Cage strapped into a suit of amor and wielding a sword. Try as I might, I can’t even begin to imagine what that would look like.
The movie, called Season of the Witch, is described as a supernatural thriller. I guess that means it’s more concerned with ghosts and the occult than it is with the trappings of your standard knights in shining armor fantasy. That’s good, because I’m pretty sure Cage has no business riding a horse… unless of course he’s playing Ichabod Crane. There’s just something wrong about the idea of him wrapping those pasty, bony legs around a four legged creature. Maybe he can drive the wagon or something. Better yet, give him a wheel barrow and let him be the bring out your dead guy. With a plague going on, they’ll need him.
