I was one of the few people who met Ocean’s 11 with a resounding “meh”. Aside from giving the terminally underrated Andy Garcia something to do and allowing you to gape in horror at the thing that Eliot Gould has become, it seemed completely over-hyped, as well as a step down from Soderbergh’s two previous masterpieces Out Of Sight and The Limey.
I dug Ocean’s 12 more. Which sorta embraced the meta weirdness instead of giving lip service to playing it straight, and thus became utterly hilarious. Sure the whole Julia Roberts plot twist was over the top and overly cute, but when the biggest set piece in your movie is a five minute flashback to a supporting character break dancing over lasers. You just gotta laugh.
So I basically have no idea what to expect from Ocean’s 13. Other then a lot of HOO-Haa from Al Pacino and red. Apparently lots of red.
Anyway , the movie has a pretty cool poster image over at ImpAwards. Go there to see a high-res version of it. The movie comes out in June. Not that I’ll exactly be rushing to see it.
