One MCU Actor Looks Exactly Like Young Luke Skywalker, Check This Insanity Out
As the Star Wars universe begins to expand, it moves in all directions. While we’re getting new sequels, we’re also seeing prequel stories like this year’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. One of the problems with this, of course, is having to recast iconic roles because the original actors have aged. We’re about to have a young Han Solo, and it looks like we could end up with new chapters in the life of Luke Skywalker too. As it turns out, Sebastian Stan looks just like a young Mark Hamill.
The resemblence here is so spot on it's mildy terrifying. Instagram’s Morphy_Me has used a computer to morph the face of The Winter Soldier onto that of the young Jedi, and the end result doesn’t honestly look like anything has been done at all. It still looks remarkably like Mark Hamill, at least how Hamill looked circa 1980 or so. We promise, the image below is actually Sebastian Stan’s face on Mark Hamill’s head. Although, you’d be forgiven for believing it’s just an unshaven Mark Hamill.
The likeness is uncanny, almost creepy. The only thing that throws it off is that we don’t think there’s a single image of Mark Hamill with 5 o’clock shadow from that era. Since the initial image was released, the Morphy_me pic has gone viral. It has to be said that the likeness is remarkable. At this point, we have no reason to believe that Disney is planning any films that would follow a post-Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker, but if they wanted to, they could do much worse when it comes to recasting a younger actor. All Sebastian Stan really needs is the proper 1970s haircut and he could easily play a younger Luke. We’re sure Luke Skywalker had many adventures in the galaxy far, far, away before he settled down to run his ill-fated Jedi academy. Somebody give Sebastian Stan a lightsaber right now.
The work by Morphy_me here is great. It’s now going to have us looking at both Mark Hamill and Sebastian Stan in an entirely new light from here on out.
