Paramount And MTV Are Born To Rock
Many of us wonder at some point, if we are actually products of our parents. Maybe we’re adopted and our biological parents are off saving the world, or perhaps an alien abducted them and the government has been covering it up ever since.
Such thoughts often amount to nothing, and what you see is generally what you get. Although, how cool would it be if you found out your father was actually a legendary rock icon?
According to HollywoodReporter, Paramount Pictures and MTV Films are adapting Gordon Korman’s comic novel “Born To Rock”. Tim Dowling will write the screenplay and Gavin O’Connor (helmer of the underappreciated TumbleWeeds) will get cozy in the director’s chair.
The coming-of-age tale is about Leo, a young Republican who loses his scholarship to Harvard after being falsely blamed for a school prank. As his dreams for the future crumble before his eyes, he finds out that his father is a famous rock star heading out on a reunion tour. He decides to hit the road with the band, secretly hiding his plan to coerce his dad into paying his college tuition.
The flick is slated for a 2007 release.
