Paul Bettany Answers Fans Begging For Captain America: Civil War Set Pics
Marvel Studios is fairly notorious for doing everything in its power to maintain an atmosphere of mystery around their films and television shows. As such, it's rather difficult for the talent involved with the studio to divulge any info or content from their respective projects. This goes a long way in explaining why Paul Bettany just posted a picture of his sock-covered foot on the set of Captain America: Civil War.
It seems as though many Marvel fans have been hounding the British actor on his Twitter account for some kind of behind the scenes look at the upcoming Joe and Anthony Russo-directed 2016 blockbuster, and his response to all of the requests is a rather odd peek at what looks like it could be Bettany's trailer. As could have been predicted, his reasoning for this bland pic is that he's really not allowed to show anything from the film, and that he could get "fired" for doing so.
It's worth pointing out that while Paul Bettany is definitely playing it safe, the same can't really be said for some of his co-stars. After all, it was Frank Grillo himself who have us an amazing sneak peek at his badass Crossbones costume:
And the lovely Hayley Atwell has posted a few pics - including this great one of Anthony Mackie lounging and staying out of the sun:
Paul Bettany is probably being just a bit over-careful when it comes to posting images from the Captain America: Civil War set - and I wonder if part of that may have to do with the fact that his character, Vision, was kept out of most of The Avengers: Age of Ultron's marketing materials. Despite the fact that we all now know what he looks like in his full make-up, perhaps he feels there should be a bit of extra secrecy around him - which we won't hold against him given how fantastic he was in Joss Whedon's film.
Captain America: Civil War is now filming down in Atlanta, Georgia, and will be doing so for the next few months. Stay tuned for more updates from the set, and look for the movie in theaters on May 6, 2016.
