Peet Joins Martian Cusacks
I love Amanda Peet, but no matter how talented I may think she is, the woman sure has lousy tastes in movies. Sure she recently worked with Woody, but he gave her a thankless, throwaway role in the looming shadow of the semi-hairy Will Ferrell. In a few days her latest movie debuts, in which the thirty-three year old actress attempts to play twenty opposite Ashton Kutcher. Come on Amanda, you can do better!
Maybe she’ll finally find her place with Martians. According to Production Weekly, Peet is just about to sign on to the sci-fi film The Martian Child. An adaptation of a short story about a sci-fi writer who adopts a peculiar child, the film already boasts both the Cusacks, John and Joan. Directed by Menno Meyjes, who directed John Cusack in the very strange, and somewhat wrongheaded Hitler oddity Max, The Martian Child starts shooting in Canada next month.
No doubt the lovely Mrs. Peet will again find herself in some prominent yet utterly thankless role, designed primarily to show off the by now worn out career of John Cusack. If she’s lucky, maybe she’ll even give birth to tentacles.
