Back in 2010 I attended a San Diego Comic Con press conference for the action movie Red. At that time the movie wasn't set to come out for another three months, but one of the reporters in the crowd asked the panel what the chances of seeing a sequel were. In his response to the question Lorenzo di Bonaventura responded, "I think, from the film side, the audience has to vote. We all enjoyed it a lot and think they’re great characters. I’d certainly like to see them all act together again." Well, during its run in theaters Red ended up making nearly $200 million worldwide and today we have for you the first trailer for Red 2.

Directed by Dean Parisot - who replaced Robert Schwentke from the first film - the sequel picks up with Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) back to living the retired life with Sarah 9mary-Louise Parker), but the peace doesn't last long as Frank is pulled back into the world of international espionage and assassination. Helen Mirren, John Malkovich also reprise their roles from the first film with newcomers to the franchise including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Anthony Hopkins, David Thewlis, Neal McDonough and Byung-hun Lee.
