Relax, Kristen Stewart Probably Won't Be Lois Lane
Since the announcement of Henry Cavill as the new Clark Kent, the internet has been utterly preoccupied with the question of who will play Lois Lane in Zack Snyder’s new Superman. So far we’ve heard six names bandied about and now you can scratch one, probably the least popular one, off.
Kristen Stewart, previously rumored to be one of the contenders (though word is that Jessica Biel and Rachel McAdams are the frontrunners), probably doesn’t have a shot. Over at Gossip Cop, where they make their living doing pretty much nothing but debunking rumors like these, they claim to have a source who says it’s “unlikely” that Stewart will get the part.
Unlike a lot of people I don’t really have a problem with Stewart, it’s really not her fault that Twilight is what it is. At least Stewart makes a good brunette, which is more than you can say for half the other names in that superhero rumor-mixer. But if crossing Kristen off the list gets Olivia Wilde any closer to getting the part I’m all for it. Hey Zack Snyder, Olivia Wilde is the perfect Lois Lane. Sign her and forget about everyone else.
Even though she probably won’t be flying around in Superman’s arms, Stewart still has plenty to keep her busy. Another Gossip Cop source has confirmed the rumors we heard a few days ago that Kristen’s definitely on the list of potential candidates to star in Snow White and the Huntsman opposite Viggo Mortensen.
UPDATE! It's probably just a move made by her PR team to save face, but the NY Daily News reports that Stewart has passed on the role of Lois Lane and taken herself out of the running entirely. One down, four to go.
