Repo! The Genetic Opera has been pretty high on my interest list since I first heard about it. Unfortunately, I live in one of those parts of the country where the movie isn’t likely to show up without a wide release. Unfortunately, Repo’s wide release wasn’t much of a success, which means my chance of getting to see it pre-DVD isn’t likely.
Despite not having much success in its initial run, director Darren Lynn Bousman has found a way to make his movie a success - a traveling roadshow presentation that makes the showings a bit more of an event than just an opportunity to see the movie. In fact, the first run of the “Repo Road Tour” was so successful, a second tour has been announced.
According to Repo Road Tour.com, five more cities have been added to the schedule over five nights. Phoenix, Arizona; New Orleans, Louisina; Boston, Massachusetts; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Houson, Texas will be upcoming stops on the “Repo Road Tour II,” taking place December 4th to December 8th.
If you live in one of those cities, or close enough to make a special trip, check out more details and pick up more tickets at the official tour site. The rest of us will have to wait for the January DVD/Blu-ray release.
