It looks like the next zombie killing installment in the Resident Evil franchise may be running behind schedule. Earlier today Shock Till You Drop ran a story claiming that Resident Evil: Afterlife would be pushed off it’s planed August 10, 2010 release date to January 14th of 2011. Luscious star Milla Jovovich was quick to respond through her Twitter feed where she’s been updating like crazy on the status of the movie, and weirdly, she confirms the story while also denying it.

Here’s what Milla had to say about the movie’s status: “RE Afterlife IS NOT officially pushed. There have been talks of pushing it as they r not sure they can have it ready by july. We r trying as hard as we can to still meet the summer deadline though, so for the moment its still on for Aug.” So it’s not a sure thing yet, but it does sound like a delay is at least in discussion. It’s not a big deal, they just have too much post-production and effects work to do. We’ll let you know when there’s a final decision on the film’s release date.
