Rob Zombie Gets Two More Shots
Whether or not anyone shows up to see Rob Zombie’s Halloween remake this weekend, Dimension Films seems pretty happy with it. Well, not happy enough to screen it for the general press (a sure sign of suckiness), but happy enough to hire Rob Zombie to do more work for them.
Variety reports that Zombie has signed a two-picture deal with Dimension which will allow him to write and direct two more films. It’s probably safe to assume they’ll be horror films, I can’t imagine Dimension being foolish enough to put out a Rob Zombie rom-com, though they’ve yet to release any other details about the two projects.
I’ve heard both good and bad things about Zombie’s Halloween. It’s hard to know what to expect. His first film, House of 1000 Corpses was a disaster, his second one The Devil’s Rejects was a critical success. If he sticks that that formula, then at least one of the movies he’s doing for Dimension may be good. Unless of course The Devil’s Rejects was just a gory little fluke.
