SXSW Announces Competition Winners

The SXSW Film Festival held closing night ceremonies this evening. That doesn’t mean the festival is over, just the competition portion. They’ll still be showing movies at most venues throughout the week. Actually this is really the best time to buy a ticket. The media-filled, rushed crowds of the weekend have dispersed making it easy to get in to most movies and letting the focus shift back on the films themselves rather than on the event.

Since the competition portion of the Festival is done, that means South By has picked its 2009 winners. We’ve got them for you right here, as announced earlier this evening. In case you were wondering… no I haven’t seen any of them. For the SXSW movies we have seen (and continue to see!) check out our SXSW coverage right here
