Scott Bakula is Soderbergh's Informant
Once known as the time-traveling lone ranger, making right where once went wrong on Quantum Leap, Scott Bakula has since been banished to space in control of the Enterprise a series that pandered only to Trekkies. But Bakula is returning to Earth to star in Steven Soderbergh's The Informant, opposite Matt Damon, according to Variety.
Exposing an international price-fixing scheme with the help of Matt Damon as a biochemist is all in a day's work for Bakula's FBI agent character in the espionage thriller. Expect to see the tagline "based on a true story" when the trailer surfaces, as the book by Kurt Eichenwald was adapted by Scott Burns.
No word on a director yet, but Jennifer Fox (Michael Clayton) and Gregory Jacobs (Ocean's Thirteen) are slated to producer. Here's hoping that Dean Stockwell will make a cameo as Al -- a hologram that only Scott Bakula can see and hear.
