Scrat Takes Flight In Dark Knight Rises-Themed Ice Age 4 Trailer
Coming to theaters soon is the movie many have been waiting for, featuring a certain beloved character whose name sometimes rhymes with "pat-man." I am, of course, referring to the adorable and determined acorn-loving saber-toothed squirrel Scrat of the Ice Age films, who happens to go by the more heroic sounding title Scratman in this amusing new trailer for the upcoming Ice Age: Continental Drift.
With The Dark Knight Rises headed into theaters later this month, Batman is likely to be on the brain for many a movie-goer counting down the days until the third installment of Christopher Nolan's franchise arrives. But headed into theaters before that is Ice Age: Continental Drift. 20th Century Fox's new trailer for the upcoming animated film, which follows a group of Paleolithical animal friends on another chilly adventure, seems to be having a little fun with the TDKR buzz. Check it out, courtesy of Coming Soon:
Nothing like grabbing onto Batman's cape and riding that buzzing wave all the way to the box office, right? Regardless of whether or not the overlapping fan base is substantial, I count myself among it as a fan of both franchises, so the above trailer gets my thumbs up. Let's just hope Batman's Batwing flies better than Scratman's leaf (and that there aren't any sharks in TDKR).
Ice Age: Continental Drift arrives in theaters July 13. More information, videos and photos can be found in our Blend Film Database.
