Ladies and gentleman, we have our first look at Fifty Shades of Grey stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson together. We have Entertainment Weekly to thank for these stills, as the magazine did a photo shoot for an upcoming issue focused on the feature adaptation of E.L. James’ steamy novel. The images give us a look at Jamie Dornan’s dark and mysterious side, as he prepares for his role as Christian Grey. Meanwhile, Dakota Johnson’s images vary a bit more, as we see her looking innocent and casual in one, and a bit more intentionally sexy in another.
The image above offers a nice contrast to the two characters, as we see a suited Dornan seated in a chair, his hand slightly clenched, while Johnson is crouched, almost curled up on the floor next to him, dressed in casual, more colorful, clothes, sneakers and all. Because that’s Ana, the every-girl, right? EW shared the above image, along with a few others

Barefoot is kind of casual, I guess but there’s nothing casual about that dress. And it certainly suits the color motif.
It’s worth pointing out that these are EW’s photos, and not from the studio — for those who are concerned that Christian Grey’s tie isn’t gray enough or that Ana’s wearing the wrong sneakers. But it’s great to get to see the happy(?) couple together. It gives us a better idea of how they'll look together for the film.
Fans of the book won’t want to miss EW’s Fifty-featured issue when it hit stands this week. In the meantime, we’re left to hope that the film’s production will start within a matter of weeks. The movie was supposed to begin production this month, but the start date pushed off to give Jamie Dornan more time to prepare for the role, and for some script adjustments to be made. If all goes as planned going forward, the movie, which is being directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, will start production in December. In addition to Johnson and Dornan, the cast includes Luke Grimes, who will play Elliot Grey (Christian's brother) and Victor Rasuk, who will play Jose. We’re still waiting to hear who will play Ana’s best friend Kate.
The planned release date for the movie was August 1, 2014, but EW reported today that it's been moved to Valentine's Day 2015.
