See Man Of Steel One Day Early By Buying Your Ticket From Walmart
Say what you want about Walmart – and you’d probably have a lot to say – those stores are a prime place for promotional materials. They hit the largest demographic of people, and by keeping them waiting at the two open registers in the front of the store, they can drive that promotion down customers’ throats.
Case in point, the store has officially announced a partnership with Warner Bros. which will give Walmart customers the exclusive chance to see Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man of Steel on June 13, one day earlier than the nationwide release on June 14th. Starting on Monday, May 18 at 8 a.m., 3,700 stores will begin selling the tickets for the Thursday night screening, which will begin at 7:00 p.m. at participating theaters. This marks the first time a film studio has collaborated with a retailer, and it also marks the only time I’ve ever wanted to call a film a sell-out. You can view the tickets below, and know that Walmart also sells scrapbooks, just in case you wanted to save the memory.
“We have appreciated the unwavering support of the fans, and can’t wait to share the movie with them,” said Snyder in a statement about the promotion. “I am thrilled that Walmart is giving us this terrific opportunity to open the doors early.” He should have had Zod threaten us into showing up.
For those who think getting to see the film early isn’t enough, you’ll be pleased to know the ticket also comes with a special code that will allow a pre-order of the Man of Steel Blu-ray combo pack or the HD Digital Download of the film, which will feature exclusive film content. The “Man of Steel Experience” App for mobile devices will also allow users to take a picture with their purchase, and the app’s augmented reality abilities will put a virtual Superman next to them. Ticket buyers will also get an exclusive digital Man of Steel comic written by screenwriter David Goyer.
And for everyone else, Walmart will begin their Man of Steel merchandizing on April 28 both in stores and on their website, for all your Superman flip-flop needs.
