See Shawn Ashmore's Mo-Cap Face In Latest X-Men Tweet From Bryan Singer
Regardless of how director Bryan Singer has handled the secrecy behind his past projects, he has been overly welcome with sharing the pre-production process behind X-Men: Days of Future Past, via Twitter and other forms of social media. Do you absolutely need to see the outside of the newly constructed Cerebro? He tweeted about it.
Singer’s most recent uploaded image showcases actor Shawn Ashmore in a quiet moment of motion capture contemplation. Ashmore will be reprising his role of Bobby Drake, better known to fans as Iceman, that cold-fingered – but not cold-hearted – hero who has more than enough love for all the X-Women.
So there’s really not much to glean from this image, as Ashmore’s face pretty much blocks off everything behind him. Though he is wearing a jacket, so maybe things are – ahem – pretty chilly wherever he is. If anything, it makes one wonder why only the upper part of his face is being tracked. As well, it offers up the possibility of babyfaced Bobby Drake sporting all this facial hair in the film itself. Perhaps if he let it grow for a while, he could go from being in the X-Men to being in ZZ Top, with a pit stop on Y: The Last Man just to keep things alphabetical.
X-Men: Days of Future Past stars Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy and Jennifer Lawrence. It opens on July 18, 2014.
