Currently that green loveable Ogre and his little circle of friends are breaking box office records. It’s to no surprise to learn that Dreamworks is officially prepping the third chapter.
Aimed for a release two years from now, writers Peter Seaman and Jeffrey Price (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) have been tapped to pen the next installment. Dreamworks has been quietly trying to push forward a third flick on their to do list since this past January, but no one at the studio could’ve predicted how much of a monster hit it has become.
Series regulars Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers, and Cameron Diaz are said to return. No word yet on the fate of “Puss-in-Boots” just yet. If all goes according to plan, expect Shrek 3 Christmas 2006.
