WETA Digital is apparently already hard at work on making the Silver Surfer look hella cool for Fantastic Four 2, and they're doing it using a lot of the same technology put into play on Gollum. Since the Silver Surfer is basically just shiny metal, he should be even easier to get right.
The guys over at JoBlo have scored the first pics of what they say is actor Doug Jones working in a motion capture suit to bring the Surfer to life. I'm posting the best of the two pics they have to your right, but to see them both make it a point to click over to JoBlo here. Jones is apparently surfing on an ironing board.
Whatever you think of the Fantastic Four movie or whatever you think of the Silver Surfer, come on… seeing him shooting through the sky battling the Fantastic Four is going to be cool. I can't wait to see what he looks like when fully rendered.
