Simpsons Delayed
The time to make a “Simpsons” movie was about ten years ago in the height of their popularity. Not now, in their waning years when the funniest thing about last night’s “Treehouse of Horror” was their inspired use of the “Perfect Strangers” theme song. So of course the long rumored “Simpson” movie, which had seemed to be heading for production has now been delayed to 2008. By then Bart Simpson will be 47.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, show executive producer Al Jean tried to put a positive spin on it by saying they were “targeting” a date in 2008. Ironically enough, he made it a point to say that the movie needs to be reflective of the quality of the show, and further added, “you don't want the quality of the show to slip because you're doing the movie.” Apparently he doesn’t mind if the quality of the show slips because it has been on the air too long and they’re rapidly running out of ideas. Homer has had his fill of donuts.
