It seems that our excitement about Simon Beaufoy writing the Wolverine sequel was unfounded. Instead of sharpening his claws for his post-Oscar gig, Beaufoy will be getting animated instead. According to THR, he's signed on to write a film with DreamWorks Animation, called Truckers.

THR isn't giving any details about the story, but Slashfilm claims to have the goods. Truckers is based on a series of fantasy books called The Bromeliad Trilogy, about a race of tiny people called Nomes who struggle to survive in a society dominated by humans. Shrek director Andrew Adamson had originally been asked to direct it, but he moved on to the Chronicles of Narnia instead.
