New Smurfs Image Sadly Reminds Us That It's Still On The Way
It was all the way back in June that the first teaser trailer for The Smurfs came online and boiled my blood. Everything about it was cliched, trite and shitty - easily the worst trailer of the year (and this is a year that has included the likes of Yogi Bear). Sadly, though, the movie isn't set to be released until August of next year, meaning that we have eight more months of mind-numbing marketing coming our way. Let's kick it off, shall we?
Sony has sent over a new still from the film and the best thing I can say about it is that it doesn't move or make any noises. If the movie were just this image being shown on screen for 90 minutes I can guarantee that it would be better than anything they actually have in store. Much like the aforementioned Yogi Bear, this project simply has no reason for being and we can only hope that we'll be able to completely forget about it when our brains go into protection mode and shove it way, way down into our subconscious.
Until that happens, check out the image below and to see it full size, click on it and be transported over to our Blend Film Database.
