Somehow, Nazis Made Of Bratwurst Are Not The Strangest Thing In Kevin Smith's Yoga Hosers Trailer
Kevin Smith’s next film, Yoga Hosers, has been getting a lot of notice if for no other reason than its cast. The film’s two leads are being played by a couple of famous daughters. One is his own, Harley Quinn Smith, and the other is Lily Rose Depp, daughter of Captain Jack Sparrow himself, Johnny Depp. However, we now have our first look at exactly what Yoga Hosers is all about and...it looks exactly like you might imagine a collaboration between Kevin Smith and Johnny Depp might appear: completely bonkers. Check it out.
The focus of the film is "The Colleens," two best friends who have the same first name and work together at a convenience store. Unfortunately, for Kevin Smith fans this is not the Quick Stop but instead, the hilariously Canadian Eh-2-Zed. The Colleens are teenagers who are interested in the things that teenagers are interested in, having a good time, and also yoga apparently. This could make for an entertaining film on its own. Then the Nazi Bratwurst appears and things go entirely off the rails. It’s not made clear in the trailer exactly what’s going on here, but the vibe certainly shifts to something a little less Clerks and a little more Army of Darkness.
And of course there’s Johnny Depp, who we’re guessing insisted he got to wear crazy make-up before he agreed to be in the film. It appears that he enlists the Colleens to help him deal with whatever is causing the army of Nazi sausages to invade the store.
In addition to Depp, the film also co-stars Justin Long as the Colleens' yoga instructor. Long is a new part of the Kevin Smith inner circle, having previously starred in his horror film Tusk. This yoga instructor seems to be of a different school than most, as he teaches the destruction of anything that stands in your way. I’m not a yoga expert by any means, but I’m not sure that’s how it works.
I’m still not sure what Yoga Hosers is actually all about, but I’m certainly curious to find out. The film is set for release this July.
