Since Dan Brown has only written two books, at some point the movie industry was going to have to come up with some kind of replacement for The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons. The answer as it turns out is Angelology, a novel by Danielle Trussoni about a young nun caught in a war between scholars and angel monsters.

That's right! Angel monsters! This thing actually sounds better than The Da Vinci Code, even if seems to be a naked ripoff. THR reports that Sony won a fierce bidding war for the book, with plans for Will Smith and Marc Forster's production companies to co-produce it. Sony will be releasing Angels & Demons, so they'll be especially excited that they can keep the religious themed thriller thing going a bit longer. Now if only they could get the rest of us excited.
