Spielberg And Cody Collaborate Again
Diablo Cody really hit the jackpot with Juno. Not only did the movie boost the writer to acclaim, but it has set her up with a working relationship most writers in Hollywood would give their first born child for. The writer has been approached a second time by Steven Spielberg to write a comedy, on a project so secretive, not even the go-betweens working out the deal know the details.
Variety reports on the deal - the second collaboration between Cody and Spielberg. She wrote the pilot for the Spielberg conceived Showtime series, The United States of Tara. Now he has another comedy idea he wants her to write. Unfortunately due to the secrecy involved, that’s the only detail that’s been gleaned.
People may want to bitch about Cody’s sudden rise to fame from blogger to screenwriter, but clearly it’s paying off for her. You don’t get to work for Spielberg without showing some pure talent, and now Cody will have collaborated with him twice.
