Star Wars: Watch Kylo Ren Fend Off An Attack In New TV Spot
We are now just a little more than a month away from the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and that means that the this is the prime time for TV spots to start flowing in. These ads traditionally reveal tiny snippets not previously seen in full-fledged trailers - and that's exactly the case we have for you here today:
The fourth official TV spot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has found its way online, and while much of the footage is stuff we've seen most of/parts of in previously released material, there is one particular moment that we haven't seen before, and it involves Kylo Ren - the mysterious lightsaber-wielding villain being played by Adam Driver. In the clip, we see him not only pull off a classic laser blast block:
But also line up for one we can assume is a Force Push:
For the most part, Kylo Ren remains a mysterious figure in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as it's not entirely clear what his role in the plot or his motivations are. We know that he is a member of the Knights of Ren - not a member of the Sith - and that he has dedicated himself to completing whatever mission he believes that Darth Vader initially started (likely unaware of the Sith Lord's change of heart that resulted in the death of Emperor Palpatine). This probably involves exterminating all remaining Jedi, which could mean that he'd be very intent on finding Luke Skywalker, but that not has not actually been confirmed in any capacity. Even has days fall off the calendar leading up to the movie's release, the film continues to play its cards close to the chest, and we probably won't be getting any serious answers until it's in theaters.
Speaking of which, that day is coming on December 18th - and I'm sure that many of you have your calendars clearly marked. It marks the start of a whole new generation of Star Wars, and to say that we're excited is a gross understatement. We'll obviously have tons more coverage of The Force Awakens in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
