The Steamy, Bloody, Dark Trailer For The Loft Arrives

Erik Van Looy psychological thriller The Loft doesn't have a release date yet, but those interested in getting a glimpse of what the director has done with the remake of his own Belgium film can now get a look at this intense new R-rated trailer, which introduces us to five friends, who share a secret loft.

They don't live there together, as the phrase "share a secret loft" might imply. Based on the trailer (via ShockTilYouDrop.com), this apartment appears to be used as a secret hide-away where these five men can sneak off with their mistresses to fool around behind the backs of their significant others. It seems like a convenient arrangement, until things take a very dark turn.

Warning: The trailer is NSFW. (It contains some nudity and adult language.)

"Five friends. Five keys. One loft. And a secret that will change their lives forever."

The cast alone is enough to draw interest, with Wentworth Miller, James Marsden, Karl Urban and Eric Stonestreet set to star, along with Matthias Schoenaerts, who is reprising his role as Filip. There are also a number of recognizable females attached (Rachael Taylor, Valerie Cruz, Margarita Levieva, Rhoma Mitra). Beyond that, it seems like there's a sort of Fatal Attraction/Unfaithful theme to the story, starting out steamy, but soon turning dark as things go terribly wrong when the body of a woman is found in the bed. This trailer offers the added draw of a murder mystery. Whose key was used and who committed the murder? Something tells me it shouldn't be assumed that the answer to both of these questions is the same.

Now that there's a trailer, hopefully we'll hear word on the release date for The Loft sometime soon.
