Danny Boyle’s next flick, Sunshine really has me intrigued. It returns the director to the thriller genre while reteaming him with 28 Days Later star Cillian Murphy. The movie takes place as the sun is dying, following a team of scientists on a vessel traveling towards the sun in an effort to rekindle the dying star. An accident and an encounter with another vessel quickly turns the team’s mission of rescue into one for their own survival.
Unfortunately Sunshine has already suffered several setbacks, being delayed from it’s March release and bumped around continually. At one time three different sites had three different release dates for the movie, ranging from a vague “Fall” to a December listing. Now the movie is only a month away, coming out July 20th… assuming it doesn’t get bumped again.
One thing is promising for the movie: a new poster. ShockTillYouDrop.com has gotten a look at the new poster from Fox Searchlight. Do take note however: despite a release date only a month away, the poster still has a vague “Coming Soon” printed on it. Is there another move forthcoming?
