Remember 90s Oliver Stone? I'm talking about the guy who made movies like Natural Born Killers and The Doors, not ones like World Trade Center, W. or Alexander. It's been far too long since Stone has taken a wild id and thrown in on-screen, but the drought may finally be coming to an end with the release of Savages. Based on the novel by Don Winslow, the movie's previews have looked absolutely crazy and, with any luck, are just a hint at what we can expect from the final cut.
Today a brand new TV spot for the film has arrived online and you can check it out below.
The film stars Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson as Chon and Ben, a pair of marijuana growers and distributors who are growing in power each and every day. When the Mexican drug cartel comes knocking with an offer, however, the duo turn it down. In reprisal, the cartel kidnaps Chon and Ben's shared girlfriend (Blake Lively) and they have to fight to get her back. The movie also stars John Travolta, Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, Emile Hirsch and Demian Bichir. Savages will be released on July 6th and you can see more from it in our Blend Film Database.
