Teri Hatcher Is A Desperate Champ
Teri Hatcher has made a major comeback with the ABC phenomenon “Desperate Housewives”, although its second season left a lot of people yawning and waiting for it to get better (a moment that never arrived). Wisely, she is looking for other outlets to keep her career going, like returning to larger-scale screens.
According to Production Weekly, Hatcher will make her first movie since moving into Wisteria Lane. She’ll be joining the cast of the sports drama Resurrecting The Champ for Phoenix Pictures and the Yari Film Group. Her role is not yet specified.
The film, starring Josh Hartnett and Samuel L. Jackson, is about a reporter who finds a homeless man that believes he is a famous boxer, but turns out to be a lesser-known fighter of the same time. The story is based on a L.A. Times article written by J.R. Moehringer. Rod Lurie (The Contender) will direct, after being fired from “Commander In Chief”. He more than got his payback when the show crashed-and-burned in his absence.
Filming will begin the end of this month with a 2007 release.
