Thomas Lennon Enters Night At The Museum 2
Reno 911!: Miami may not have been the success people had hoped it would be, but that doesn’t seem to be hurting the career of writer and series co-creator Thomas Lennon. According to our friends over at Movihole, Fox is on the verge of handing him one of their biggest money makers. Lennon is in talks to do Night at the Museum 2.
Just for a frame of reference, Night at the Museum made $563 million dollars worldwide. Reno 911! Miami made $20 million. This is a big deal for Lt. Jim Dangle. I’m not exactly sure how you make a Night at the Museum sequel. I guess the obvious way is to find some new shmuck to drag into the museum and then do the whole thing all over again, but Lennon’s a good enough comedy writer that I believe he can come up with something a lot better than that.
Even if the whole Museum sequel thing doesn’t work out, MH also says Lennon told them that he’s working on another Reno 911! movie as well. This time they could end up in Australia. That’s right, Reno 911!: Down Under. For more on what’s up with Dangle, check out the full transcript of his transmission over at Moviehole.
