You probably don’t know who Diora Baird is, though you might have noticed her being thrown topless into a bed at some point during Wedding Crashers. She’s a pin-up model and an actress who, despite being drop dead gorgeous, doesn’t seem to be brain dead. She’s witty, she’s gorgeous (but in a I don’t throw up after I eat kind of way), she’s frequently naked, and now she may be in Thor. Rip those Anne Hathaway posters off your wall and make room for a new geek dream girl.
The news of her potential involvement in Marvel’s Thor movie comes straight from Diora’s own Twitter feed where she says she auditioned for a part in the film Monday. No word on what that part may be but she says, “Character description was 'pretty, but sturdy with muscle'. Damn type casting.”
Thor is based on the comic book series of the same name, about a hammer-wielding god of thunder who comes to Earth and decides to fight crime with ridiculous muscles and a mastery over lightning. Remarkably, no one on Earth finds this funny. The movie is directed by Kenneth Branagh and headed for release in 2011. Chris Hemsworth is already on board as Thor with Natalie Portman as one of the film’s female leads. Odds are Diora’s part will be minor, but here’s hoping she gets something big and in a bikini. Now excuse me while I head over to twitter and join all the other blogger nerds in sucking up to her.
