Thor: The Dark World Gets An Official Plot Synopsis
With no official synopsis in circulation, we've been having to guess the plot of Thor: The Dark World just from casting announcements and small details released by members of the production. And frankly, we've learned a lot. We know that almost every actor from Kenneth Branagh's 2011 film will be returning for the sequel; we know that the plot will take the titular hero into some of the other nine realms, and we know that Christopher Eccleston will be playing the central villain, Malekith the Accursed. While those are the big details, what we don't have are the small little bits that link them all together, but today the picture becomes a bit clearer thanks to Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures.
Coming Soon has gotten their hands on the official plot outline for Thor: The Dark World, and while it may not give the entire film away (thank god) it does provide some cool information. Read part of the full synopsis below and head over to the source to see the full reveal.
So there aren't any astounding new revelations here, but what do you expect from a studio that does its best to tell you as little about their movies prior to release as possible? That said, it's interesting to know that Malekith has much bigger plans that what Loki had in both Thor and The Avengers (where he was really only targeting specific worlds) and that the villain's power has become so great that not even Odin can stop him. It should all make for a pretty thrilling ride.
Thor: The Dark World will be in theaters November 8, 2013, making it the second Marvel movie of the year following Iron Man 3 on May 3, 2013. For more about the upcoming God of Thunder sequel, head over to our Thor: The Dark World DB page.
UPDATE! Thor: The Dark World now has a trailer too. Watch it here...
