The Tomb Gets A Release Date, The Big Wedding And Now You See Me Get Delayed
Summit Entertainment and Lionsgate Films merged as one company this year and now even their release date announcements and changes are coming together as well. Today the joint studios announced when we will see Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone team up again and that it will be a little while longer until we see both The Big Wedding and Now You See Me.
First off, we have the newest development for The Tomb, which Box Office Mojo says will arrive in theaters on September 27, 2013. The film, which comes to us from director Mikael Håfström, follows the world's greatest prison architect (Stallone) as he is framed for a crime and must find a way to break out of jail. In addition to Schwarzenegger, the movie also stars Jim Caviezel, Vincent D'Onofrio, 50 Cent, Vinnie Jones, Amy Ryan and Sam Neill. In its late September slot it will be going up against both Runner Runner, the new Brad Furman thriller starring Ben Affleck, and Paranoia, Robert Luketic's latest film.
As for The Big Wedding, those of you who were looking forward to seeing the romantic comedy next month, I have some bad news: it's been pushed all the way to April 26th of next year. The star-studded Justin Zackham movie is about a long-divorced couple (Robert De Niro, Dianne Keaton) who pretend to still be married while attending their adopted son's wedding. The cast also includes Amanda Seyfried, Robin Williams, Katherine Heigl, Topher Grace, Susan Sarandon, Ben Barnes and Marc Blucas.
Lastly there's Now You See Me, the new Louis Leterrier movie about an FBI team on the hunt for a team of magicians that rob banks. While the film was originally going to be released on March 15, 2013, Summit has decided that it fits better as a June release and will now be going up against the M. Night Shyamalan sci-fi film After Earth on June 7, 2013. Now You See Me stars Mark Ruffalo, Isla Fisher, Morgan Freeman, Woody Harrelson, Michael Caine, Dave Franco, Jesse Eisenberg, Elias Koteas and many more.
