The cast for The First Avenger: Captain America is already mighty crowded with recognizable and not-so-recognizable names-- there's Chris Evans in the lead, of course, plus Hugo Weaving as the villain, Hayley Atwell as the love interest, and Sebastian Stan as the sidekick. But is there room for a genuine icon too? UGO is reporting a rumor, albeit one from a source they really trust, that Tommy Lee Jones is in negotiations to appear in Captain America in an unspecified role.
They don't even have any guesses as to what specific role Jones might play, but rightly point out that First Avenger is set in World War II and in the military, and well, Tommy Lee Jones hasn't perfected playing military types for nothing! Jones has made plenty of big-budget movies over the years-- he's got Men In Black 3 coming this summer as well-- but this would be his first return to the comic book world since his take on Two Face in Batman Forever.
