Trailer For Director Tom Shadyac's Documentary I Am
You may not know Tom Shadyac by name, but you’ll definitely recognize some of his films. He’s the man behind Ace Ventura, The Nutty Professor, Patch Adams, and his funniest film Liar Liar. He doesn’t seem like the type of director who would step up and ask today’s great minds some challenging questions, but that’s exactly what he’s done in I Am.
Following a near-death experience the long-time director thought long and hard about his life and decided to make a documentary in which he asks people “what’s wrong with this world and what can we do about it?” A new trailer has appeared online for the film and while it spends a little too much time on Shadyac’s back story, there’s still enough meat leftover to give you a good idea of what to expect from his participants, who seem to be focusing on man’s connection to others and nature. Should be very interesting.
I Am premiered at The Hamptons Film Festival in October and will be finding its way to some theaters this February.
