I've already reviewed the documentary Page One: Inside the New York Times from this year's Sundance Film Festival, and liked it so much that the marketing team is using my quote-- "Riveting and fascinating!"-- in the new trailer that premiered today at Apple.com. So what more do I really need to tell you than to watch the trailer below, which gives you a great sense of the in-depth and thoughtful documentary, which true to its title, spends a year following and interviewing several reporters who work in the newsroom at the Times.

The doc is especially interesting because it attempts to tell the story of the Times as they straddle the line between print media and the digital frontier; since the film was finished the Times has set up the paywall that's mentioned in the doc, and yet even today, with the news of Osama bin Laden's death on the front page, the paper ordered 165,000 copies of the print edition. Page One captures that strange dichotomy perfectly, less of an end-all exploration of the paper but a snapshot of a moment in time in which a lot of things were changing. Given that it's dropped the "A year" from the original Sundance title, I'm guessing director Andrew Rossi has since added some footage shot in recent months, which would only serve to make it more interesting and relevant. The movie is coming to theaters this June from Magnolia Pictures.
