A New Trailer For Tideland
Good news for Terry Gilliam fans. No, Tideland hasn't finally gotten domestic distribution, but it does look slightly less like it sucks.
The initial buzz on the film has been almost resoundingly terrible, so terrible in fact that American distributors aren't interested in showing it. The first trailer showed up on the official site late last year, and it too made the whole thing look like a massive disaster.
In fact, there's not been a good word said about Tideland anywhere by anyone so far. I wonder if even Terry Gilliam likes it? Now though, we have a first glimpse of something from Tideland that doesn't completely stink, in the form of a Japanese trailer for the film. While the movie may be a long way off from being released in the United States, it's getting released in other places around the world fairly soon. The Japanese ad actually makes the film look like it may have something. Sure, it also makes it look like a heroin fever dream, but there's a glimmer of potential in this latest trailer.
