Trailer Trash: Paris, Je T’Aime Plus Three

When trailers fall in between Cinema Blend’s couch cushions, they eventually get vacuumed up and deposited here in Trailer Trash. Today's bag of Trailer Trash contains three future viewing possibilities, and one trashy classic.

First we have a domestic trailer for the 18 director love letter to Paris compilation Paris, Je T’Aime. Next up is the funnier than it ought to be first trailer for the two Wills new Dumb & Dumber-like comed The Brothers Solomon. Third in line is a trailer for the new Ben Kingsley attempt at relevance, a hitman movie called You Kill Me. Last, we’ve got a bonus trailer of unusual length. Scroll!

Paris, Je T’Aime – domestic trailer

It’s more a collection of short films than a movie itself, but it’s a collection of short films directed by 18 different, interesting, must-see directors using casts full of brilliant, big name, actors and actresses. The directors involved in Paris, Je T’Aime include the Coen Brothers, Gus Van Sant, Gurinder Chadha, Wes Craven, Walter Salles, Alexander Payne, and Alfonso Cuarón. The film is all about love in the city of Paris. Yeah, I know, Paris and love has been done to death, but I don’t think it’s ever been done in quite this way. Each director tells the story of an unusual encounter in a different one of the city’s neighborhoods in an attempt to portray parts of the city we don’t normally see on screen. The Brothers Solomon – first trailer

The Brothers Solomon stars a guy from a cancelled TV show and the least talented member of the current SNL cast. It shouldn’t be funny, but the trailer is. The Brothers Solomon is the story of Dean and John Solomon (Will Forte and Will Arnett), two good-hearted but romantically-challenged brothers. When they find out their dying father’s last wish is for a grandchild, the brothers set out to find someone to have a baby with. But after spending their formative years being home-schooled by their father in a remote arctic location, their social skills prove to be somewhat lacking and their attempts at fatherhood go disastrously wrong. You Kill Me - trailer

Ben Kingsley stars as an alcoholic hitman from Buffalo whose drinking is interfering with his killing. So, he’s sent to the West Coast to dry out. He attends AA meetings, gets a sponsor and lands a job in a mortuary, where he meets a woman who is a relative of one his hits. Just when he starts to sort things out, he’s called back home to start back up with the hired killing. Kingsley could stand to be in a good movie for a change, maybe this is it. CLASSIC TRASH: Ghandi

As long as we’re talking Ben Kingsley, take a minute or five and remember his finest hour in the extremely long, 1982 movie Ghandi. The trailer, perhaps as a way of warning people of the film’s long running time, runs nearly five minutes. You don’t see that anymore. Here’s the trailer:
