We’ve had movie versions of “Bewitched” and the upcoming “Dukes of Hazzard” this year, so why not go for yet another television show adapted to the big screen. This time the targeted television show is the big daddy of prime time soap operas, “Dallas”.
Overshadowed scientologist (thanks to Tom Cruise) John Travolta has been quoted as saying he will be playing a "man with a mighty big hat"” in a new movie based on the tv show. Fan speculation has read this to mean he’s a contender to play J.R. Ewing, the charming villain of the series.
Travolta is a far cry from Larry Hagman, and I can think of about a dozen actors who could play a better big screen J.R.. Although since this is based on a random quote with no real movie in development, it might be able to be written off as a pipe-dream of Travoltas.
