Ultimate Spider-Man Writer Involved In Sony's Reboot
When Sony first announced their plans to reboot the Spider-Man franchise by taking Peter Parker back to high school, a lot of people instantly thought “Ultimate Spider-Man”. In the year 2000, that’s exactly what Marvel Comics did with the character when they released an “Ultimate” line of comics which modernized and re-imagined Spider-Man’s story, starting back at the beginning. Now it seems the similarities between Sony’s plan and Marvel’s “Ulitmate” line may be more than superficial.
Moviehole caught a tweet from Brian Michael Bendis, who wrote Ultimate Spidey in which he says, “Just spent a very interesting morning at Sony with the entire spidey movie team!! Very very cool stuff!!”
No word on just how he might be involved in the project, but the fact that they brought him in sort of confirms that Sony’s thinking the way we all thought they were thinking. Spidey’s reboot may go Ultimate.
