Hollywood has reduced women to shopaholics and girlfriends. That’s the gist of an excellent editorial written by our own Katey Rich last week. Normally she and I like to spar over issues like this, but with a movie like Confessions of a Shopaholic hitting theaters this month it’s hard to argue against her premise. Apparently in movies, all women need to be fulfilled is a man and a lot of shoes.
Or in the case of Isla Fisher, really awful outfits. Somewhere along the way to making Confessions of a Shopaholic someone confused trendy and fashion forward with gaudy and godawful. Yikes.
