Vote Kirk Lazarus For Best Supporting Actor
There’s been talk of an Oscar nomination for Robert Downey Jr.’s performance in Iron Man, but his best performance of the year was in Tropic Thunder as the dude playing the dude disguised as another dude. Unfortunately Paramount isn’t pushing Robert Downey’s performance for an Oscar, they’re pushing the performance of his character, Kirk Lazarus.
Can a fictional character win an Oscar? Probably not, but I’ll dream happily tonight of living in a world where something so awesome could exist. Paramount believes in that world too, since their entire Oscar campaign, complete with promotional ads, banners, and an Oscar poster is focused on getting Kirk his much deserved statue. I approve. Check out the trappings of their campaign below, and do your part to convince the Academy to vote Kirk Lazarus for Best Supporting Actor.
