Wanted won’t even be in theaters for another week, but they’re already planning a sequel. Actually, it sounds like they were plotting out a course for one right from the start. That shouldn’t surprise anyone, just about every big blockbuster movie does it.
Now we have confirmation that Wanted has done it, in the form of an interview with Terrence Stamp over at MTV. Stamp plays a character called Pekwarsky in the film, and of him he says, “He’s an enigmatic character who doesn’t feature a lot in the first one, but it’s something that’s written for a sequel.”
So standard operating procedure. Sequel possibilities have already been worked into the first movie just in case, you know, people liked it enough that they can squeeze out another. If it makes money, the groundwork for Wanted 2 has already been laid.
