Watch Batman Chase The Joker In Suicide Squad Set Video
Ben Affleck recently graced the set of Suicide Squad with his presence, giving fans yet another reason to head to theaters for David Ayer's DC supervillain teamup. But what is Bruce Wayne doing in a movie that already focuses on the likes of Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Deadshot and Boomerang going on covert missions for Amanda Waller? New videos have leaked from the set giving us our answer: one awesome chase between The Joker and the Batmobile.
Suicide Squad continues filming on location in Toronto, Canada, and a few bystanders were on hand to record some of the action that went down. Ayer and his crew shot a scene in which Batfleck's Batmobile races after Jared Leto's Joker, who's driving a pujrple car down Yonge Street. Just Jared published some photos revealing Leto's white-faced, green-haired stunt double manning the wheel of his metallic red sports car with a stunt double for Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn in the passenger seat.
Earlier in the month, Suicide Squad shut down this same location to film a plane crash scene, while other areas of Toronto played host to moments involving a helicopter crash, a train sequence and another chase scene. We're still trying to figure out what sort of shenanigans Task Force X will be getting themselves into, but it's safe to say Batman survives his battle with Superman in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. And, more exciting still, his inclusion in Suicide Squad is proof that Warner Bros. wants their cinematic charcters to seamlessly crossover with their other standalone films.
Suicide Squad is the next installment of the DC cinematic universe following Zack Snyder's Man of Steel follow-up, and it'll feature a cast that includes Will Smith (Deadshot), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), Cara Delevigne (Enchantress), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jared Leto (The Joker), Adam Beach (Slipknot), Jay Hernandez (El Diablo) and Karen Fukuhara (Katana). The film centers on these prisoners of Belle Reve Penitentiary who are enlisted by the prison's warden, Waller, for special missions in exchange for reduced jail time. Reports suggest the story has something to do with Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg reprising his BvS role) and a plot involving Enchantress.
Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5, 2016, but we're sure to get more snaps from the set in the weeks ahead.
