Watch Daisy Ridley's Beautiful Reaction To The Star Wars 7 Trailer
This must be an exciting, nerve-wracking time for the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, especially for the actors who are new to the series. The final trailer was released hours ago, and now we can all see first hand how it feels to become a part of film history. Actress Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey, posted her reaction to the new trailer on her Instagram feed.
OMG, that’s adorable. A friend of Daisy Ridley’s captured her reaction and the young actress was nice enough to let the whole world see it on her Instagram feed. It’s clear that she loves that she was able to be a part of the series, and is also awed by the impact the role has already had on her life. Not to mention what’s probably coming up for her in the next few months. I’m sure it’s a ride she never really expected she’d be taking.
If you take a gander at the rest of her Instagram feed over the past few months, you can see that Daisy Ridley is all about the Star Wars experience. She’s captured everything from teaser screen captures, posters and her character’s Topps trading card, to panel appearances, tiny Rey cos-players and her godfather’s dog macking on a Chewbacca stuffed animal.
It’s no doubt that Daisy Ridley has scored on of the roles of a lifetime in Rey. Her character is obviously a badass from the looks of all the teasers and trailers, and Ridley seems to have taken quite well to the part. I’d be surprised if she’s not also about to become one of the most interviewed and adored actresses on the planet. I mean, come on, she scored a major part in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, if that doesn’t do something good for an actress’s profile, very little will.
Until she signed on to play Rey, Daisy Ridley had a small list of small parts on television shows and one video game voice over on her short resume. She’s since added a movie called Scrawl to the list, but nothing in her professional acting background is anywhere near as big as Star Wars is destined to be.
The mere idea of being a part of something like this must be intimidating as hell. Coming ten years and seven months (almost to the day) after the last of the much maligned prequels, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is supposed to be the return to greatness for the beloved series. Superstar director, writer and producer J.J. Abrams took the helm on this one, while also working on the script. Many people loved his reboot of Star Trek, which is one reason why such high hopes rest on his Star Wars take.
Daisy Ridley, John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) and the rest of the newcomers to the series have likely been a part of the whirlwind for months with no future of it slowing down anytime soon. I bet Ridley isn’t the only one who has (or will eventually) shed tears over the massive-ness of the experience. For an actress with so much steam behind her career, though, she sure is handling public exposure well. Let’s hope that continues, and that Ridley can ride through the series without losing her delightful excitement.
