Just because The Muppets came out in theaters last fall doesn't mean they'll miss a chance to parody another big blockbuster. Just like they did for The Green Lantern and The Hangover Part II last summer, The Muppets team is back again to riff on The Hunger Games… though when Miss Piggy is involved, I think you know what kind of hunger they mean. Take a look at the new parody below.
This time the parody is to promote the DVD and Blu-Ray release for The Muppets, which is coming March 20 in what they're calling "The Wocka Wocka Value Pack." Yes, that's a bad title worthy of Fozzie Bear himself, but that's probably the point. It's a little bit of a bummer they didn't shoot any new footage for this parody the way they did for the earlier ones, but I guess with all the Muppets packed up and back in storage, and director Nicholas Stoller and writer James Bobin hard at work on the sequel, I guess there was no time to put together anything new.
I'm not sure the video is going to make anybody any more or less likely to buy The Muppets on DVD, but more Muppets in your day is never a bad thing. Now to get on to the real burning question-- with a plunger on his bow and arrow, would Gonzo stand a chance in the actual Games?
